When does GTA 6 come out?
Grand Theft Auto VI releases on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. You play as two switchable protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, across the fictional state of Leonida. The campaign runs about 80 hours. There is no online mode and no PC version at launch.

26 minutes of gameplay premiered on Netflix

A playable 2025 build leaked eleven days before that
LeakedFrom 18 August 2026, a leaker calling itself CyberLeek published gameplay clips, story cutscenes and what appears to be the complete Leonida map. Take-Two won court-approved subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord on 22 August. The full leak timeline →
It is a single-player game at launch
ConfirmedNo online mode ships on 19 November. Rockstar has not announced the structure or date of GTA Online's successor, and there is still no announced PC version. What that means →
No microtransactions, and no generative AI
OfficialRockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson confirmed on 29 August 2026 that there is no way to spend real money inside the single-player game, and that no generative AI was used building it. Both answers are limited to the single-player release. The full story →

Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson has said his most recent full playthrough took roughly 80 hours Official. The 600,000 NPC animation figure comes from press previews and compares with about 55,000 in GTA V and 300,000 in Red Dead Redemption 2 Confirmed.
