The pattern Rockstar has run for twenty years
Rockstar's marketing rhythm before a mainline release is unusually consistent: a reveal trailer, one or two feature trailers, a gameplay showcase, then a short, atmospheric launch trailer shortly before the game arrives. GTA 6 has now had all of those except the last.

Why the showcase does not replace it
The Extended Look on 27 August was a 26-minute gameplay presentation aimed at people who want to understand the systems. A launch trailer does a different job: it is 90 seconds of tone, cut to a song, aimed at everyone who has not been paying attention. Rockstar has never skipped one, and it has never merged the two.
What would move the window earlier
UnconfirmedPre-load opens 12 November 2026. Rockstar has historically wanted the launch trailer out before pre-load traffic peaks, which argues for the earlier half of the window rather than the later.
On dates circulating online
Several accounts have claimed specific launch-trailer dates since the Extended Look aired. None has produced evidence, and none has a GTA 6 track record. Rockstar announces trailers on the Newswire, usually 24 to 48 hours ahead. Until then, everything is a guess — including this page, which is labelled Unconfirmed for that reason.
